God thought to hide his secrets in a secure place.  How about on the moon he reflected. But then, one day human beings could get there and it may be that those who arrive there would not be worth of such knowledge. Maybe in the ocean or deep underground? But that again was dismissed for the same reason. Then the solution occurred to him: “I shall put my secrets in the inner sanctum of their own minds. Then only those who really deserve it and seek it will be able to find it.”

ALTERED STATEs of CONSCIOUSNESS

Fasting, sleep and sense deprivation, drugs, lucid dreaming, free-falling, solitary confinement, and OBEs are several of the ways to experience temporary altered states of reality. But the true path – unencumbered by extreme influences – lies through meditation. All can be accessed by going within oneself – naturally.

Waking From Sleep: The Causes of Higher States of Consciousness

These experiences are sometimes associated with meditation, nature or psychedelic drugs, but what exactly is it that causes them? Why is it that the limits of our normal consciousness sometimes fall away, giving us access to a world of is-ness, beauty and meaning which is normally hidden from us?

Hallucinogens Have Doctors Tuning In Again

Scientists are taking a new look at hallucinogens, which became taboo among regulators after enthusiasts like Timothy Leary promoted them in the 1960s with the slogan “Turn on, tune in, drop out.” Now, using rigorous protocols and safeguards, scientists have won permission to study once again the drugs’ potential for treating mental problems and illuminating the nature of consciousness.

Experiment shows brief meditative exercise helps cognition

Psychologists studying the effects of a meditation technique known as “mindfulness ” found that meditation-trained participants showed a significant improvement in their critical cognitive skills (and performed significantly higher in cognitive tests than a control group) after only four days of training for only 20 minutes each day.

The great day of the Lord is near; it is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; there the mighty men shall cry out. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of trumpet and alarm against the fortified cities and against the high towers. (Zephaniah 1:14-16)

A SPECIES-ALTERING EVENT

According to the first commentary the oil spill’s worst case scenario has the life forms on planet Earth facing mass extinction. Martial law will not be the worst of our problems – the reason for its imposition will be. Sooner or later humanity will destroy itself – unless our program is rebooted in time.

Gulf Coast watches, waits for path of oil spill
The latest satellite image of the slick, taken Sunday night indicates that it has shrunk since last week, but that only means some of the oil has gone underwater.

Things Fall Apart

It was sickening to behold, and says many things about our national character that are deeply uncomfortable to contemplate. An unknown person filled with hate tried to blow up Times Square. A shabbily-run oil rig might literally kill us all. A water crisis turned ordinary people into greedy, pushy animals right before my eyes.

About the Big Spill

Bottom line on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill:

1. It didn’t need to happen in the first place
2. The damage could have been fully contained on the first day
3. Government (and media) corruption made the whole
economic and ecological catastrophe possible.

Amidst the confusion of the times, the conflicts of conscience, and the turmoil of daily living, an abiding faith becomes an anchor to our lives. –Thomas S. Monson

PLANET in TURMOIL

Are we witnessing the final moments of the end of days? It sure feels that way. It would be ironic if we are not around for the 2012 Winter Solstice. So do you think a portal would still open in Sedona if there is no one there to witness it? But the again Sedona is a sanctuary so there really is nothing to worry about, right?

Lightning Adds Flash to Ash

Much of the lightning generated by the Iceland volcano is better termed long sparks, said the University of Florida’s Uman. Those may include a new type of lightning recently found over an Alaska volcano.

North Pole rainfall ‘bizarre’
