How do scientists understand that which is incomprehensible? How do scientists explain that which is inexplicable? I guess they make the answers up as they go along – as our astronomers do. Just remember that when you see a photo of what’s allegedly outside our solar system – the colors are added to enhance the object’s appearance and the object itself most likely no longer exists.
