A HOLOGRAPHIC ENVIRONMENT

It sure looks like we are following the path our cosmic programmer blazed when it created our holographic reality. We are just a few light-thoughts behind – assuming we don not destroy ourselves first. And aren’t you glad that our simulation’s creator wasn’t of the same mindset as the computer scientists in China who want to insert physically impossible figures in their 3D virtual environments. I’d just as soon keep demons and superheroes in the realm of science fiction/fantasy – though every once in awhile I get the feeling that they would like to crossover and pay us a visit.

Forget 3D glasses! ‘Star Wars’ hologram TVs will put you IN the action

Thousands of football fans are investing in cutting-edge 3D TVs for the World Cup in South Africa. But viewers could soon watch matches on holographic TVs that would make you feel like you were actually at the game.

Impossible figures brought to life in virtual worlds

Ever found a computer game truly impossible? If not, you soon might, thanks to Chinese computer scientists who have found a way to depict physically impossible figures in 3D virtual environments.

At NYC sci fest, asking ‘What if we’re holograms?’

Greene and other “string theorists” are exploring a possible scenario in which people and the world around us are actually a 3-D holographic projection of two-dimensional data that exists outside the accessible universe.

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. –Yoda

Darpa’s Beady-Eyed Camera Spots the ‘Non-Cooperative’

Soon, keeping your head down won’t be enough to stump high-tech security cameras, thanks to Pentagon-funded researchers developing mini-cameras that can nab threats by hunting down — and scanning — their eyeballs.

Now independent thinkers are considered diseased by psychiatry

Psychiatrists have been working on the fourth revision of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and, in it, they hope to add a whole slew of new psychiatric disorders. Unfortunately, many of these disorders are merely differences in personality and behavior among people.

The power to guess the unseen from the seen, to trace the implications of things, to judge the whole piece by the pattern, the condition of feeling life in general so completely that you are well on your way to knowing any particular corner of it — Henry James

THE IMPLICATIONs of RANDOM EVENTs

If you had to pick one event with the most serious implications for humanity’s safety, which one below would it be? Jupiter has taken two hits that I can remember. Is an NEO headed in our direction? Could the unusual sinkholes appearing more frequently throughout the planet signal some major disturbance below its surface? Will firing laser beams across the emptiness of space cause a distortion in the space/time continuum allowing a time traveler to enter our world and stop the LHC from destroying it? So many questions so few answers. IMHO we will eventually do some reckless act that will either directly or indirectly destroy humanity. So for me the last event is a good example of what I am referring to and gets my vote.

Jupiter Takes Another Hit!

Amateurs Anthony Wesley in Australia and Christopher Go in the Philippines simultaneously videotaped what appears to be a major meteor impact on Jupiter.

Unusual Sinkhole

Now take a good look at this photo…does this, as they say that some locals have declared, appear to be something that could have been caused by a poor sewage system? Take a close look at the shape and depth of this crater. Perfect circle, like a chimney, and where is the bottom? What is going on that would cause a perfect circular hole? What is going on down there and what is above or below that we cannot see? Sewage must be out of control to cause this to happen.

Largest scientific instrument ever built to prove Einstein’s theory of general relativity

Three spacecraft flying three million miles apart are to fire laser beams at each other across the emptiness of space in a bid to finally prove whether a theory proposed by Albert Einstein is correct.

Man arrested at Large Hadron Collider claims he’s from the future

A would-be saboteur arrested today at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland made the bizarre claim that he was from the future. Eloi Cole, a strangely dressed young man, said that he had travelled back in time to prevent the LHC from destroying the world.
